GG is a new model of Art gallery

Our dream is the peoples platform, a fully funded, independent, insurgent  Art  institution. Members and visitors pay so that artist’s don’t have to, so the State and the rich can’t call the shots and so Art need not be dominated by a sales imperative.

In 2019 we formed a collective to rent studio 8, level 1 7A Hope Street Brunswick, on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations, dividing the costs amongst our members to create a place for Public Engagement with Art.

Foundational principles:

• We are on the Sovergin Land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the the Kulin Nations

• Culture is Serious Business

• We love Art

• Art Mattters

• Commission, enable and support the development of ambitious and experimental new Art

• Make new connections with old Art

• GG is primarily funded by members and visitors

• GG is a not-for-profit, substance organisation (all money generated is spent on the Art and associated costs)

• No fee’s or commissions will be charged to Artists

• No more than 50% of exhibitors can be men

Become a member:

• The minimum membership is $10 a month

• Historically full members pay $50 a month

• There is no maximum

• No more than 50% of members can be men

• You get free entry to GalleryGallery Inc events

• You get to participate in running the gallery
